Germany's visa centre changes document submission booking rules

From February 2025, booking an appointment to submit documents at Germany's visa centre requires paying a service fee. A non-refundable advance payment is now required when booking a visit date. This information is posted on the official website of the VisaMetric visa centre.

The service fee is 2,980 rubles. If the appointment is cancelled, the amount is not refunded, and the date and time of the visit cannot be changed once booked. The visa fee itself remains unchanged and is paid directly at the visa centre. It is set at €90.

Documents for applying for a German visa can be submitted in Moscow, St. Petersburg, Yekaterinburg, Novosibirsk, and Kaliningrad. To apply for a German visa, Russian citizens need to provide a valid international passport, copies of pages from their Russian passport, health insurance, two colour photos (3.5x4.5 cm), flight tickets and accommodation booking, as well as documents confirming financial means.
